I like to spotlight the talents of those who deserve it and Samantha Clemmer certainly deserves this spotlight.

Full-time mother, wife and aspiring photographer, Mrs. Clemmer shows a definitive talent for capturing emotion and life via the lens if her camera.

The above photo is one of her earlier pieces and it is one of my favorites. It captures the essence if time! The perspective from which she snapped the picture says it all. There’s even a bit of mystery to this one that catches your eye  and imagination while drawing you intensely into the scene.

Samantha’s innate ability to take a variety of style photos goes to prove that her well of talent in the world if photography may very well be endless.

When it comes to macro photography Samantha shows an adept eye for exquisite detail! As a huge fan of this type if photography I can only say I look forward to watching her career bloom into something wonderful.

Mrs. Clemmer also takes wonderful pictures of people and it delights me to see her finished pieces. There’s a lot to be said for a photographer that doesn’t piegon hole themselves into one style—- and this lady certainly shows she hasn’t stuck herself into one style. She’s an eclectic photographer with a very bright future indeed!

So, in closing I say;

Thank you Samantha for sharing your immense talent with us and I wish you and your career in photography all the brightest blessings!

How Do You Do The Holiday

winter-solstice

This holiday season can be so many different things to different people and cultures;
Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Candlemass, Winter Solstice, Yule.

Being Pagan the holiday is Yule and the Winter Solstice for me. A time when the sun once again begins to regain its heat, light begins to win back its time, and mid winter is upon us. It is also the time to fellowship with family and friends and to begin working/praying/concentrating on the things you wish to bring forth in your life.

As the Sun God is reborn and the Wheel turns Mother Nature once again lends her energies to us so that we may tune in and bring forth new ideas, strengths and influences into our lives and world.

I respect and honor all cultures and peoples practices during this Sabbat and I greatly admire the rich diversity this season has to offer. I am continuously aware of the fact that though peoples paths differ, our perserverance and love of holiday traditions, and rituals offers a common bond throughout the world.

I ask you that we, as riders of this huge rock spinning through space that we call Earth, respect all traditions over the Holiday seasons. Spread joy, love and peace. Remember our path doesn’t have to be the path of others. We came into the world as indiviuduals so its common sense that our idealogies and holiday names, practices and beliefs will be diverse to say the least.

Please feel free to take time to shout out in the comments section and let me…us…know how YOU celebrate and acknowledge this time if year.

Brightest Blessings to you all!!!

Writing is My Soul Food.

I write for many reasons; I’ve got a lot to say, I would go nuts if I couldn’t, the plethora of characters and story plots floating around in my head refuse to give me a moment of peace if I dont bring them to literary life, and most importantly writing feeds my soul.

In writing I find not only my own voice but the voices, aspirations, fears,  phobias, conundrums, hopes and dreams of my characters. By default when I do this I a am able to relate, emphasize, sometimes inspire,  and sympathize with those who read what I have written.

Writing is like a miracle medicine for me. No matter what I write, the very act of creative flow lifts me to a place in which the circumstances, the reality, outcomes, etc are of my own making. A very kathartic activity indeed!

In a world so full of things beyond our control I think creative writers find solace and positive energy flow when they immerse themselves in their art.

Writing has so many benefits… Benefits that you may not imagine. I have researched these benefits and I’ve included a few links below on this subject for your browsing pleasures.

Please feel free to share with us all what writing does for you personally. If your not a writer please share with us how reading feeds your soul and charges your mind and body.

Here for Now…Not Forever

phoenix_bird_symbol_of_immortality_tattoo_design

At a very young age I became very aware that life is truly fleeting. My mother always said that as a child I seemed to be aware of many things that were unusual for a young tot to be aware of…I would stare into people versus at people, I would sit for long periods of time pondering this toy or that toy, I read at an early age, I was sensitive to other people’s emotions etc.

I believe I became aware of life and death and our mortality due to the fact that I read books beyond my age group early on in my childhood. I was, and have never been, daunted or afraid of the idea of death or how infinitesimal our lives are in the big picture.

I, as a grade school child, became aware of a strong belief inside of myself that life was a cycle. I am sure it took quite a bit of maturing before I began to put the idea into actual words but I do remember thinking that there was more…that something beyond ‘this incarnation’ existed.

Solitude

this post is from almost a year ago and I found it fascinating that today, a yr later, I feel the same way today …Interesting enough for me to repost it!!!!

Welcome to Jennterra

Solitude can be negative to some and positive to others. For me it is positive.  Its in moments of solitude that I recharge my battery, cleanse away the negative energy I may have gathered or attracted by social interactions and the environment I was immersed in. In these memoments I pull positivity into myself. In doing this I feel refreshed, strengthened and uplifted.  Moments of solitude seem to be a must for me to keep from being totally drained by the demanding world around me.

In a very busy word it can be hard to find a moment to be completely alone with your thoughts. There’s always something that is needling you for your time and attention with no regard to the fact that it is depleting you. What’s crazy sometimes is the fact that oft times some of these ‘things’ do not even realize that they are tapping you out; children…

On Forgetfullness: is It Me Or is it Age?

x

Did I shut off the oven?

Where’s my damned keys?

What was I going to say?

Why did I walk into this room?

Oh, you didn’t order the large coke , burger and fries? hmmm

And the above is the least of the forgetful moments…don’t forget these ones (lol):

What’s your name…again? (andddd this is to the people you see five days a week at your work!)

We did what together…when? (funny but extremely uncomfortable moment!)

HEY, officer, (from the back seat of the cop car) What did I do with my beer? (ok ok that’s a bit extreme but most of us know of at least one person that’s experienced this moment of forgetfulness!)

And the list could go on and on…

Is this phenomenon, (because that , for the time being, is what I am calling it, phenomenon) just inflicting me? Or others as well? Is it something I ingested as a younger version of myself (wink wink) or is it age? I am not sure as to why it happens but, I have taken to making lists of shit just so I remember. I guess at this point I should also mention that half the time I forget where I put the list or I forget to even look at it!

Wait a second…what was I talking about, I forget???????? 😉 (ha , couldn’t resist)

I would like to chalk my forgetfulness up to the fact that my mind is always actively sorting shit out. I’m thinking that if my mind is that busy it just doesn’t have the time or space to remember stuff like peoples names, where I am going, my phone number, how old I really am, etc.

As long , I guess, as I remember to live fully, love with all my heart, don’t harbor hate, laugh often (even if I forget what I am laughing at), smell the roses, and listen when the world around me has something to say ( I didn’t say remember what it says just listen when it says it) then I am going to be alright. I may not be able to find my car in the mall parking lot, or the keys to get in it when I get there, but I am alive and healthy with great friends and family and that is truly all one could ask for.

So rock on my friends and allies in forgetfulness. We don’t intend to harm or offend, we are not ditzy, WE are just fine the way we are! Even if we cant remember what way that is!!!
